Public blockchains expose an enormous amount of information. For individuals this can reveal financial activity.

For a company, the same transparency reveals the operating detail a competitor would pay for. Every item below is readable from a public chain by anyone, without permission and without notice.

02 · THREE DISCLOSURE MODES

Three disclosure modes

Protected hides the provider, the amount and the settlement. Resource and quantity stay visible, because the network still has to route the work.

Public
Standard transparent blockchain activity. Every field is readable.
Protected
Sensitive transaction information is hidden while validity remains verifiable — amounts and counterparty shielded, a VALID proof remains.
Selective disclosure
Users can selectively reveal information to counterparties, auditors or applications when necessary — shielded by default, chosen fields disclosed to a named role.

Privacy beyond transfers

Earlier privacy networks made payments confidential. Kronex plans to explore confidentiality for commerce.

A confidential payment hides one number. A confidential order has to hide the size, the resource, the price, the counterparty and the settlement — while still letting the network route and verify the work.

What Kronex does not claim

Privacy is not anonymity. Kronex aims for user-controlled information disclosure: the ability to choose what becomes public, what stays confidential, and who may verify it. Specific cryptographic mechanisms are under research and are not yet implemented.

The Kronex testnet running today is a fully public chain. Nothing described on this page is available on it.
